HGMS D.A.W.G.S is a collaboration between two student clubs: 1. D.A.W.G.S. Leadership Club, formal know as Boys, Books & Bow-ties 2. D.A.W.G.S. Career Club. Each club operates as a separate entity but collaborate when possible to create the exciting learning experiences for HGMS students.
D.A.W.G.S. CAREER CLUB
PURPOSE: The purpose of the co-curricular club is to assist HGMS students in being workforce ready and to grow into responsible employees, entrepreneurs and leaders. The clubs focus is on preparation for obtaining their first job and soft skill development. Soft skills categories that will be emphasized are People Skills and Self-Management.
People Skills: Team Work, Presentation, Facilitating, Communication, Leadership and Networking.
Self-Management Skills: Growth Mindset, Self-Awareness, Self Confidence and Stress Management.
THE NEED: Soft Skills are personal attributes, non-technical, intangible skills employers seek and you need to succeed in the workplace.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
7th & 8th students enrolled in a CTE course first or second semester.
7th & 8th students accepted into the D.A.W.G.S Leadership Club.
